The area to be waxed is exposed, cleaned with an antiseptic, then dusted with a light powder. A warm wax is applied in manageable sections to the area, using a wooden applicator. A strip of muslin cloth is pressed firmly to the wax, then briskly removed, taking the wax and the hair with it. A gentle oil removes any remaining bits of wax and soothes the skin. A rapidly-hardening blue wax may be used for the sensitive face areas, and is removed by hand, not by a muslin strip. You and the esthetician will decide what is best for you.
We cannot wax clients that are taking Accutane, using Retin A, have just tanned in the sun or tanning bed or are on any antibiotics that contribute to increased skin sensitivity. Menstruation does NOT prevent you from waxing, although your skin may feel a bit more sensitive.
Hair growth should be at least 1/4" but not longer than 1/2" (about 2 weeks growth) for the most effective waxing. Hair will be trimmed if necessary.
While hair that was previously removed during waxing will not reappear for 3-4 weeks, other hair grown may emerge due to the fact that each hair grows in 3 distinct phases so you may see the next phase growing in just a little in the next week or so, therefore repeat visits are normally necessary. It takes 4 to 13 weeks for the hair to grow from the papilla to the surface of the skin. Hair growth becomes less and less the more you wax!
After all the stages of hair growth are removed, hair removal generally lasts 3-4 weeks depending on your individual hair regrowth rate. You will notice that the time between waxing treatments will increase with continued waxing, hair growth will become sparse and eventually cease.

A Brazilian bikini wax removes the hair from the entire pubic region, except for a small patch just above the vaginal area. Many women request a Brazilian because it gives a clean, close wax and the freedom to wear even the most revealing swimwear and lingerie.
An annoying consequence of shaving and waxing -- occur when a hair curls into the skin and grows in the wrong direction, resulting in a red, irritated bump that can become infected. To help avoid ingrown hairs, I recommend using the loofah. It helps pop the hair out of your skin to keep the skin healthy.
You can certainly wax your legs at home, but as with many beauty procedures, a professional can usually do a better, more efficient job (with less mess). The hair needs to be pulled at a 40-degree angle and the cloth strips need to be yanked quickly, both hard feats to accomplish on your own.
For the BEST RESULTS, repeat you professional waxing every 3 weeks, depending on the area and your individual hair growth rate.
